About Bankruptcy Help:
My clients often ask me "what can I do to fix my bad credit? How can I get my bad credit back on track?
How can I avoid bankruptcy ?". They are shocked at my answers because the HONEST truth often contradicts
what attorneys and creditors tell them. These people do not have any interest in your long term credit
rehabilitation - they just want their money , NOW now! Due to recent changes in the bankruptcy laws there
is little advantage for you to seek legal remedy so I don't offer one, only a way to get those creditors off your back and
improve your credit right away so that six months from now your credit WILL BE GREATLY IMPROVED. My reward is
helping good people who have been screwed by big banks and predatory lenders. You can return the favor by referring
this site to someone else who is considering bankruptcy.

"I love your site very informative. My question is this. My husband and I have a
bankruptcy on our credit. However, when the attorney submitted the information to
the court it was denied because, we didn't meet the requirements. The attorney took
it upon herself to push it through the court system anyway (we feel to keep the $500.000 we paid her), and
now it is on our credit report. We didn't realize this until
later, after the fact.
It has been on there for 6 years, and is due to come off in 2009. Even though it shows a -0- balance,
and says dismissed, it is greatly effecting our credit history.
How do we get this removed? What steps do we need to take?"

Michelle,,
Yours is a unique situation that I don't have any experience with so I can only hope to steer you in the right
direction. At this juncture it isn't worth spending any more money to rectify the situation and I fear an
attorney would only spin wheels on your dime. Here is what I would do if I were you (and I am not so take
it for what it is worth):
Contact the courthouse and find any documentation you can stating that the BK was denied. The forward
that information with a letter of explaination to each of the credit bureaus. Make several copies.
Send these disputes via certified mail to each of the bureaus stating that you would like these BKs deleted from your reports
within 30 days (you might want to download my dispute template from the Step 4 page as a start). Hopefully one or
two of the bureaus will oblige from the start but if you are rejected, wait a couple weeks and resend the dispute...be
persistant...you are in the right and you have a right under law to vigorously object to these items.
Best of luck, let me know how it goes and if I can further help
Sincerely, Loanlad
